Dating back to the 15th century, the building has the appearance of a noble residence - barrel-vaulting in some of the ground-floor rooms, and the beam-and-truss roofing date from this period. In the next two hundred years, the building was enlarged by the addition of the northern wing and the creation of a magnificent garden with matching faades in neo-classical style. All the original architectural features, including pilasters and capitals, have been perfectly preserved. An elegant fountain with the charming figure of a wood-nymph ennobles the northern end of the garden.
