General Description: Set in a 14th Century palazzo in the heart of the old part of Montepulciano, and with breathtaking views over the Val dOrcia and the Val di Chiana, the Locanda San Francesco offers an exclusive destination for those who want an holiday with a difference in one of the Tuscanys most beautiful hill-towns.The Locanda has just 4 bedrooms, each of them decorated individually and furnished with fine antiques from the family collection. On one side the rooms offer panoramic views of the Val dOrcia, while on the other they look over the rooftops of the town towards the Val di Chiana, and as far as the Lakes Trasimeno, Montepulciano and Chiusi.All the guest rooms have spacious double beds, fine parquet flooring and exquisite upholstery, while each room has its own character and style, and it is finished and fitted in its own way.Breakfast is served in the large cross-vaulted lounge on the ground floor, which also contains a well-stocked library and a selection of films in DVD. There is also a free internet point on the first floor for guests use.Guests can easily reach the Locanda by car, where parking spaces are available on request. By car:From the north: Autostrada del Sole A1 toll road, Valdichiana-Bettolle exit, follow signs for Montepulciano passing through Torrita di Siena (approx. 20 km). Once in Montepulciano follow signs for Parking n. 8 and then Duomo-Piazza Grande along Via Ricci to Piazza San Francesco. From the south: Autostrada del Sole A1 toll road, Chiusi - Chianciano Terme exit, follow signs for Chianciano and Montepulciano (approx. 20 km). Once in Montepulciano follow signs for Parking n. 8 , and then Duomo-Piazza Grande along Via Ricci to Piazza San Francesco. by plane:From Pisa or Rome airports follow signs for Florence and autostrada A1 toll road. By train:Rome-Florence line, Chiusi station, then coach service to Montepulciano .
